Baseline
The GENIUS project aims to develop an innovative digital platform for the management and optimization of energy and material flows in the textile industry, with a focus on sustainability and circular economy. Through the combination of advanced technologies and a systematic approach to data management, the platform developed will have a significant impact on reducing the ecological footprint and adopting circular economy practices.
The planned duration of this project is two years, during which a number of academic and industrial partners will be involved.
During the first year, the main focus will be on collecting and analyzing the data needed to create an accurate model of energy and material flows. This initial phase will involve the installation of sensors and IoT devices in participating textile companies, with the aim of monitoring energy consumption and materials used in real time. The data collected will then be processed and analyzed to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for optimization.
In parallel, development of the digital platform will begin. This platform will be designed to integrate several advanced technologies, including digital twinning and blockchain, to ensure traceability and transparency throughout the production chain. Digital twinning will make it possible to create a virtual replica of production processes, facilitating monitoring and simulation of improvement scenarios. Blockchain, on the other hand, will ensure the security and immutability of data, which is essential to certify the sustainable practices adopted by companies.
In the second year, we will proceed with the implementation and validation of the platform. This phase will involve extensive real-world testing to ensure that the platform effectively meets the needs of textile companies and enables them to achieve their sustainability goals. The results obtained will be monitored and analyzed to make any improvements and optimizations.
Throughout the project, special attention will be paid to training and stakeholder engagement. Workshops and training sessions will be organized to ensure that all stakeholders fully understand how the platform works and its potential. This collaborative approach is essential to ensure a smooth and effective transition to more sustainable practices in the textile sector.
